Thanks Val! We're somewhat surprised and pleased at the popularity of the series. There are 78 total cards in the Tarot but we are concentrating on the first 22 which are called the Major Arcana (or Trump cards). These comprise what can be called a Hero's Journey starting with 'The Fool' and culminating in 'The World'. We'll go into what the various rows of cards signify in an upcoming podcast. While we hope to complete a total of 22 podcasts we'll probably take a break after we complete the 8th which is 'The Chariot' and hope to pick up the series with the next row of seven cards later in the year.

Thanks Val. It seems to me the major distinction between the Mother/Queen and Father/King is how wide the circle of the family is drawn. What level of duty or responsibility is felt or acted on. In the film Erin Brockovich you see the protagonist (played by Julia Roberts) who is both a Mother and a Queen and the stress of balancing the two. When she realizes she has neglected some of her Mother duties for those of her larger realm, you really see the conflict. In a similar way, the TV series Battlestar Galactica has Admiral Adama (Edward James Olmos) choosing between his role as a Father and as the leader of a fleet (King). In both cases one doesn't usually leave one archetype for the other in a clean way but usually struggles with the balance. To be sure they are each separate archetypes but they share a great deal of the same DNA. The 2006 film "The Queen" is an excellent example of this as well.

Hi Julienne
I am intrigued. What would the energy look like for a mother who becomes a queen and a father who becomes a king? In listening to your broadcasts, you talked about there is the moment when the mother/father leaves the family to go out into the outer realm and becomes the queen/king.
Does that leaving/decision play out in the same way?

Loving your series

Wonderful story! And I'm so glad your child got to play in LA. You are spot on about summertime inviting the child into the driver's seat for many of us. In fact, another blog I follow posted about the war between our inner child and inner adult today too:

Thanks for the second reminder in my day to feed the child in me.
